Mr. Reddy said he would take up the matter with the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, when he arrived at Tirupati later this month for the three-day plenum of the Telugu Desam Party. Mr. Reddy said he would also request the Chief Minister to prevail upon his Tamil Nadu counterpart, J. Jayalalithaa, to share the cost. A similar highway between Chennai and Pondicherry was there along the coastline and the Chennai-Tirupati fast-track could be taken up as a joint venture under the `build-own-operate-transfer' scheme. No one would mind paying Rs.50 or so these days to use the high-speed track and reach their destinations fast.
