Monsoon advances

New Delhi May 17. The South-West monsoon is likely to touch the Kerala coast on May 21, ten days ahead of the normal schedule of June 1, Met office sources said here today.

The monsoon has already advanced over south of Andaman Sea and adjoining areas of the Bay of Bengal and is progressing. The formation of a cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal on May 11 had contributed to the early arrival of monsoon. — UNI
