Candlelight rally for AIDS victims

CHENNAI MAY 18. A candlelight rally, in commemoration of World AIDS Memorial Day, was jointly organised by the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TNSACS), the Chennai Corporation AIDS Prevention and Control Society and the AIDS Prevention and Control Project, from the Presidency College to Gandhi Statute here this evening.

The rally was taken out to remember those who lost their lives to AIDS, to support those living with AIDS and to mobilise community involvement in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The volunteers, led by the Corporation Commissioner, M.P. Vijaykumar and the TNSACS project director, K. Deenabandu, later took a pledge renewing their commitment to fight against HIV/AIDS.
