Pondicherry
By Our Staff Reporter
Addressing newsmen here today, Mr. Rangasamy said government employees would attend offices. While the Confederation of Associations of Employees has decided to participate in the bandh, the Central Federation of Associations of Government employees and the Federation of the Employees Association in separate communications have announced that they would stage a walkout for an hour in the afternoon and hold a demonstration in the evening. The Superintendent of Police (north) V.J. Chandran, said regulatory order had been clamped for 15 days from May 21. The Chief Minister asked the bankers to ensure that unemployed youth were sanctioned loans for self-employment projects. There should be no room for any deficiency in the credit deposit ratio and the concentration of banks should be as much on sanctioning of loans as it was on deposit mobilisation. At the same time borrowers should also be prompt in repayment of dues. Mr. Rangasamy said he had asked the Development Commissioner to hold parleys in this regard with banks.
