Lupin pays 50 p.c.

MUMBAI MAY 20. Lupin posted a flat consolidated net profit of Rs. 74.39 crores for the year ended March 31, 2003 against Rs. 73.69 crores in the previous fiscal. The board has recommended a 50 per cent dividend.

Total income rose to Rs. 1,121.84 crores from Rs. 980.43 crores. On a standalone basis, Lupin has registered a net profit of Rs. 73.07 crores against Rs. 72.18 crores. Its total income (net of excise) has increased to Rs. 1,041.11 crores from Rs. 875.83 crores. The company has recorded a sharp drop in net profit at Rs. 2.28 crores in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2003 against Rs. 13.90 crores in the same period a year ago. Total income (net of excise) rose to Rs. 269.24 crores from Rs. 223.66 crores.
