To be supported by the Ministry of Social Welfare, both the Bachelor of Rehabilitation Therapy and Bachelor of Audio and Speech Processing will aim at training youngsters to help people with special needs. To be spread over a period of four years, an additional six months have been earmarked for practical training or internship of students. "These courses were earlier available only in diplomas that was offered by a Government institutes. The degree will not just prepare students well but also given a new option to those interested in doing something for society,'' says the university Vice-Chancellor, K.K. Aggarwal. The first such degree course to be offered by any Indian university, it will, however, have very limited seats, with only 20 students being taken for both the courses.
