Work with SHRC to curb trafficking in children, NGOs told

CHENNAI MAY 20. In a day-long programme on prevention of child trafficking organised by the Child Rights Forum (CRF - North Zone - Tamil Nadu), 28 competitions were held for children from 10 NGOs.

Earlier in the day, Arokiasamy, zonal convener, CRF, A. Johnson Kennedy, Director, Udhavi, and Stanislaus, vice-provincial, Don Bosco Society, and Geetha from the Indian Council for Child Welfare, spoke.

Justice Sambandam, Member, Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission, giving away prizes to the winners, said NGOs could collaborate with the Commission in preventing child trafficking.

Debates, singing, fancy dress, mimicry and street-plays formed part of the competitions.
