Video festival gets underway

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM May 20. The Chief Minister, A.K. Antony, has said Kerala is all set to welcome the video revolution happening all over the world.

He was inaugurating the second international video festival organised jointly by the Government of Kerala and the C-DIT, here today.

After the industrial and the electronic revolutions, we are now experiencing the third one created by the popularity of the video, he said.

In his presidential address, the Minister for Parliamentary affairs, M.M. Hassan, said the Festival would help inspire and influence film-makers in the State and make a qualitative improvement in the field of documentaries.

The festival director, Rajiv Nath, welcomed the gathering, V.S. Sivakumar, MP, released the festival bulletin by handing over a copy to the jury chairman, Jahnu Barua. The short film `Daddy and Papa' was screened after the inaugural ceremony held at the Tagore Theatre.
