Four held, property recovered

HYDERABAD May 20. The Langer Houze police, on Tuesday, apprehended four offenders who were allegedly involved in three chain-snatching cases, theft of two motorcycles and a house- breaking incident.

The entire stolen property, worth Rs. 2 lakhs, was recovered from them, a press release said. The accused -- Sameeruddin Siddique, Shaik Wazeed, Mohd. Rafeeq and Mohd. Asif -- were remanded to judicial custody.

Cash bag stolen

A businessman of Ketupalli village in Nalgonda district, P. Anjaneyulu, lost Rs. 45,000 when his cash bag was snatched away allegedly by a motorcycle-borne person at Narayanaguda on Tuesday.

Ends life

Dejected over his failure in the Intermediate examination, a student, Mahender Kumar (18), committed suicide by hanging last night in his house at Golnaka.

Dies in mishap

A 65-year-old housewife, Laxmi Tiwadi, died on Tuesday when the car being driven by her daughter hit against an electric pole near Satyanarayana Swamy temple at Mahendra Hills on Tuesday.
