THIRUVANANTHAPURAM May 21. The State Government has clarified that Transfer Certificate (TC) will be compulsory for students seeking admission to schools, except in the first standard. There has been no amendment made to the clause in the Kerala Education Rules, pertaining to school admissions, said the Secretary, Department of General Education. However, in the interest of students who had been studying in an unrecognised school in the 2002-03 academic year, permission will be granted to appear for the annual examination in any Government, aided or recognised school and to pursue studies in the same school in the years to come. In such cases, no TC will be required, it has been further clarified.
