Hand over mosque to Wakf Board: Ravi

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI MAY 21. The AICC general secretary and Rajya Sabha member, Vayalar Ravi, today defended the Chief Minister, A.K. Antony's decision not to ban VHP's trishul distribution programme in the State, but demanded that the mosque taken over by the administration following the violence in Marad be handed over to the Wakf Board at the earliest.

Briefing presspersons here, Mr. Ravi was critical of the BJP for trying to use the Marad violence as an excuse to brand Kerala a "terrorist State''. Stating that the Marad incident was shameful and ought to be condemned, he, however, maintained that BJP's effort to brand Kerala in this manner was tantamount to abusing the people of the State.
