Letters to the Editor
Sir, The VHP leader, Praveen Togadia, claims to have collected the signatures of about 100 MPs to support a legislation on allowing the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya ( May 19 ). His proposal is to prevent MPs from entering Parliament if they do not affix their signature. This is a clear violation of the freedom of MPs to think, articulate and prioritise the national needs and have them actualised in Parliament and Government. The MPs have better business in concentrating on developmental issues, recession, unemployment and jobless growth. Without plans for promoting peace and social harmony, Mr. Togadia is going about misleading the politicians as well as the people through his `trishul' distribution and hate politics.
