New Delhi
By Our Staff Reporter
According to Mr. Udit Raj, both the Congress and the BJP, have over the years failed to address the problems of housing, transportation, shortage of power and water of the people living in slums who mostly belong to the Poorvanchal region. He said as part of its campaign to create mass awareness among the community about the need to protect its identity and evolve an alternative to look after their interests, the Poorvanchal Kalyan Mahasangh will hold a series of rallies in the coming months across the Capital. He said the Congress and the BJP had only been extending lip service to the Poorvanchal community and had nothing concrete to address their concerns. "Our organisation will put an end to this kind of discrimination and offer an alternative to the people from this community. It is high time exploitation of this 32-lakh strong vote bank comes to and end and they are provided a fair share in the power structure in Delhi,'' he added. Mr. Udit Raj also lambasted the so-called Third Front and said the Mahasangh would be the third option for the electorate as the proposed Third Front was nothing but coming together of leaders who are spent force. These leaders have lost the following among the masses and no longer command respect due to their past follies, he added.
