Samata MLA arrested

Patna May 23. Police tonight arrested the Bihar Samata Party MLA, Sunil Pandey, here in connection with the kidnapping of a doctor in Hajipur last year.

A team of Vaishali police headed by the DSP, Z. Ahmed, came here with the arrest warrant issued by a Vaishali court and arrested Mr. Pandey from his official residence on Bailey Road in connection with the abduction of Gajendra Kumar Sinha from Hajipur in December last year, police said.

He was recently in the thick of a controversy over the kidnapping of the neuro-surgeon, Ramesh Chandra, earlier this week as he was accused of patronising the abductors.
