Harsh loses in quarterfinals

NEW DELHI MAY 25. Harsh Mankad went down 6-1, 4-6, 2-6 to the top-seeded Timo Nieminen of Finland in the quarterfinals of the ITF Satellite tennis circuit on clay in Portugal.

The Indian Davis Cupper had beaten Daniel Munoz de la Nava of Spain 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the pre-quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Saurav Panja lost 4-6, 0-6 to James Shortall of New Zealand.

In the doubles, Harsh seeded second with Clint Lee of the US went down 6-4, 5-7, 4-6 to Tiago Godinho and Jose Pedro Silva of Portugal in the quarterfinals after a bye in the first.

Saurav Panja and Saurav Sukul lost 3-6, 1-6 to Diogo Rocha and Leonardo Tavares of Portugal in the first round.
