Jammu & Kashmir
By Our Staff Reporter
The community, which moved out of Kashmir and settled down in camps, mainly in the Jammu region, has maintained its traditional academic superiority. Besides topping the list in the last 13 years, the community has bagged the lion's share of top positions in various streams, be it sciences, arts or commerce. This time, the community has bagged four of the ten positions in the State board results declared yesterday.
Neha Tikko, who secured the third position in her class 12 exams, wants to compete for the Indian Administrative Services. "There is a lot of pressure on the wards of the Kashmiri Pandits to do well academically. Parental pressure is enormous''. Manik Sheeri, who is also among the toppers, agrees that there was tremendous pressure from his parents to do well.
