IBM staffer detained in Malaysia

BANGALORE May 25. An employee of the city-based software company, IBM (India), was reportedly detained by Malaysian authorities at the Kuala Lumpur airport on Friday evening.

According to sources, Narendra Babu of the Planning Department, was detained while he was boarding a flight back home. He had been issued boarding pass when he was reportedly called back.

The reason for the detention was not immediately known. When contacted, IBM officials declined to comment. "The company's position is that it will not comment anything on it," the Corporate Communications Manager, Prashanth Balarama, said.
