India and Iraq

Sir, — The endorsement of the latest U.N. resolution — which gives full authority for reconstruction work in Iraq to the U.S. and Britain — by Germany, France and Russia reflects the changing scenario in the Persian Gulf. India, which is in a dilemma whether or not to send troops, should draw proper conclusions from these changes. Non-participation in the post-war Iraq reconstruction work will, undoubtedly, isolate India in international politics.

Ravi Krishna,
Hyderabad
