Prime accused surrenders

The prime accused in the Kirutinan murder case, Sulaiman Sait, surrendering in a Chennai Court on Tuesday.

CHENNAI MAY 27. One of the accused in the former DMK Minister, T. Kiruttinan murder case, Ibrahim Sultan Sait (25) of Madurai, surrendered before the XIII Metropolitan Magistrate at Egmore here today. Accepting the surrender, the magistrate, Venkatavaradhan, directed that the accused be produced before VI Judicial Magistrate in Madurai on June 2.

Charged with Section 302 of IPC, Mr. Sait said, in his petition, that the case had been foisted on him by the Anna Nagar police in Madurai, and that he was innocent. He was lodged in the Chennai Central Prison in the afternoon.
