Heatwave lingers

By Our Staff Reporter

Pondicherry May 28 . The Union Territory of Pondicherry continued to be in the grip of hot spell and mercury hovered around 42.8 degrees Celsius (109.04 degrees Fahrenheit) and today's temperature was more by 3.4 degrees Celsius than Tuesday's.

Heat wave continued to hold people to ransom.

Although Pondicherry is located on the seashore, the impact of the hot spell continued for a longer period of the day.

Shopping centres bore the brunt of the hot spell with poor turnout of customers.

The Bharathi park close to the seashore with big trees, however, offered some respite in the evening.
