Under the Balika Samvridhi Yojana scheme (Rs. 500 each) for women with girl children, 135 women were given a total of Rs. 67,500; in the Aravanaippu scheme (Rs. 500 each) 1120 beneficiaries were given Rs. 5,50,000 totally; under the Kulavilakku scheme (Rs. 500 each) 587 women received a total of Rs. 2,93,500 and under the marriage assistance for the daughters of widows (Rs. 5000 each) 134 women received Rs. 6,70,000 totally. Four persons were given fee reimbursement for courses SUCH AS typewriting and shorthand. Women from some 21 constituencies in Pondicherry including Ariyankuppam, Bahour, Bussi, Embalam, Kasukkadai, Thattanchavadi, Uppalam, Raj Bhavan and Nettapakkam were given financial aid at a function at the Kamban Kalaiarangam. The Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, the Agriculture Minister, Namassivayam, the Social Welfare Minister, Chandirakasu, the Local Administration Minister, Elumalai, the Speaker, M. D. R. Ramachandran, and MLAs distributed the money.
