Jharkand
By K. Balchand
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and MP, Shibu Soren, and his supporters outside the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi on Wednesday just before they were arrested for trying to stage a dharna.
The JMM president, Shibu Soren, MP, was taken into custody along with about 50 of his supporters, for violating prohibitory orders, while marching to the Raj Bhavan to stage a dharna to register his disapproval of the Government's ``brutality'' towards those favouring a domicile policy for class three and grade four jobs. A bus was set on fire at Huluhundu where one person was killed in the police firing at a mob which sought to prevent "outsiders" from taking the State-level examination for the appointment of over 10,000 teachers. Normal life was affected for the third successive day, today's bandh having been preceded by a two-day bandh by pro-domicile outfits.
