Train on fire

By Our Staff Correspondent

CHANDIGARH MAY 28. An alert engine driver prevented a major disaster, when three of the six coaches of a local train, running between Ferozepur and Fazilka, caught fire this afternoon, near Jalalabad town.

The driver, Harjinder Singh, alerted passengers after he noticed the train's engine on fire. He stopped the train in a couple of minutes for the passengers to disembark. Before villagers and fire-tenders could put out the blaze, the three coaches were gutted. Some passengers were injured in the rush to get off the coaches.
