CM politicising every issue, says YSR

By Our Staff Reporter

Rajahmundry May 28. The CLP leader, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Wednesday charged the TDP and the Chief Minister, N.Chandrababu Naidu, with politicising all issues, including the issue of the Paragodu project. The project is being executed by contractors belonging to the TDP and the Chief Minister can use his influence and stop execution of the project, Dr.Reddy said. He also referred to the dispute over the Cauvery river water between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and how they approached the Centre and the courts for a solution. Mr. Naidu can follow the same steps and stop politicising the issue, Dr. Reddy said. Dr. Reddy, who started his padayatra at Bangarayyapeta, about 80 km from here today, spoke to presspersons at Ramakrishnapuram where he halted for lunch. Mr. Reddy said that Mr. Chandrababu Naidu had no right to criticise the AICC president, Sonia Gandhi. It was Ms. Gandhi who had visited the drought-hit areas and consoled the family members of farmers who had committed suicide, Dr.Reddy said.

The CLP chief said that the response to the padayatra had given a big jolt to the TDP and its leaders. Dr. Reddy dared the TDP leaders to organise padayatras and find out for themselves the hardship being experienced by people in the drought-affected areas. While people were subjected to untold suffering, there were celebrations, Dr. Reddy said, apparently referring to the ongoing Mahanadu.
