Ambattur police inspector suspended

CHENNAI MAY 28. The inspector of the Ambattur police station has been placed under suspension following an enquiry into a complaint lodged by an American woman, alleging that he had misbehaved with her.

Police said H. Fernandes (47) had initially complained to the USIS in Chennai stating that the Inspector of Police in Ambattur had misbehaved with her under the pretext of questioning her.

A formal complaint was later lodged with the District Crime Branch of Chengai (East). Investigation was taken up, police said and added that as an enquiry was on, the inspector, S. Krishnan, was placed under suspension.
