Rag picker dies in scuffle near Mahadevapura

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE MAY 28. A rag picker was murdered while another was injured in a scuffle between the two in Mahadevapura Police Station limits on Tuesday. Police have identified the injured as Srinivas. He has been admitted to Bowring Hospital with a stab wound on the hip and a head injury. Police said the two were quarrelling on Tuesday night at ACS Layout and the head of the deceased was crushed with a stone. Police have registered a case of murder and another case of attempt to murder.

Man dies: Amir Razak Rashid, hailing from Nairobi, died of illness at a private hospital in Cubbon Park Police Station limits here on Tuesday. However, it is learnt that the man had a scuffle with some autorickshaw drivers in Mumbai recently and was relieved of Rs. 2,700. The police suspect that his death might have been caused by injuries he suffered during the scuffle.

Rashid was in town to see his sister in Benson Town. He reportedly came to Mumbai by flight, and had a scuffle with autorickshaw drivers there in an inebriated state on May 22.

A case was registered at Andheri Police Station.

Later, he came to Bangalore and fell ill, police said.
