Fatal fall for three

HYDERABAD May 28. Three painters, who accidentally fell down while painting buildings in separate incidents, succumbed to their injuries on Tuesday and Wednesday. B. Upendra (18), who slipped down from the second floor of a building under the Shahinayatgunj police station limits on Tuesday, succumbed to injuries at the OGH. In another case, Dasharath (32), who fell from the top floor of a building in Langer Houz on May 19, died at the OGH on Wednesday. Pradeep (25), died on Tuesday after he fell down while painting a building in Kukatpally.

Priest nabbed

The Tukaramgate police on Wednesday arrested a priest of the Maa Vaishanavi Temple at Mahendra Hills, Hari Krishna Sharma (32), who decamped with 64 tolas of gold ornaments belonging to three devotees. The stolen property worth Rs. 2.64 lakhs was recovered from him.

Sharma hadconvinced three woman devotees that their financial problems could be solved if they offered special prayers with gold ornaments.

Constable suspended

The City Police Commissioner, M.V. Krishna Rao, on Tuesday suspended a head constable of Central Armed Reserve Headquarters, Mohd. Khaja, who allegedly harassed his daughter-in-law, Shabana Begum, for dowry. Shabana committed suicide on April 23 this year allegedly due to dowry harassment. In another case, two constables of Kanchanbagh police station, M. Balaswamy and Shivaji, were punished with reduction in pay scales for their alleged corrupt practices.
