The Sessions Judge, Hemant Deshpande, granted them transit bail. They were directed to seek regular bail in a Surat court on or before June 12. Mr. Bhupinder Singh appeared in person. Ms. Sunanda is in a hospital in Dubai. The same court had on May 16 granted transit bail to Ms. Shetty's father, Surendra Shetty, and asked him to obtain a regular bail from a Surat court on or before May 28. He has sought bail in a Surat court and the matter is pending. Ms. Shetty's parents have been accused of hiring a gang to recover Rs. 80 lakhs from a saree manufacturer, Pankaj Agarwal. The money was said to be Ms. Shetty's unpaid modelling fee for appearing in an advertisement film. Meanwhile, Ms. Shetty today charged the media with ``convicting us before the court verdict'' and said they came from a decent background and would not ``stoop so low''. ``The media has proclaimed the victim and villain, based on evidence which has not yet been substantiated.''
