The clerical staff and drives attached to municipalities and also commune panchayats who were getting a daily pay of Rs. 155 would now get Rs. 158 for a day. Those who were employed as part time staff with duty hours exceeding three hours a day would be paid Rs. 1976 a month instead of Rs. 1938 available so far. Elumalai said in a press release today that those with less than three-hour work schedule a day would be paid Rs. 1482 a month against Rs. 1453 paid so far.
