Deported Dawood aides arrive in Mumbai

Mumbai May 29. Two associates of the Karachi-based underworld don, Dawood Ibrahim arrived late tonight at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport here after being deported from Dubai.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection), Pradeep Sawamt confirmed the arrival of the Riaz Siddiqui and Raj Kumar Sharma in Mumbai at around 10.20 p.m. The two are wanted by the Mumbai police in several cases of murder, extortion and other crimes.

Police officials said these two deportations will give a major blow to the activities of the organised crime syndicate, particularly to the Dawood Ibrahim gang, many of whose members are based in the Gulf region. — UNI
