Nine-year-old girl charred to death

NIZAMABAD May 29. A nine-year-old girl was charred to death and 13 others suffered burns, while 68 houses were reduced to ashes in a devastating fire accident in Nachupalli village under Birkur mandal, about 70 km from here on Thursday.

According to reports, a haystack caught fire and within no time spread to nearby houses, which were completely burnt. The girl, Mogulavva, was burnt alive as she could not rush out in time. The 13 persons who suffered burns, which included women, were rushed to the Banswada area hospital.

The condition of a 60-year-old man, Boyi Ganga, is said to be serious. The Bodhan RDO, Seshadri, rushed to the spot and relief operations are in full swing, the Collector, G. Asok Kumar, said.
