Music competition

HYDERABAD: MAY 29. All India Radio (AIR) is organising a music competition for young artistes in the age-group of 16-24 years as on June 30, 2003. It will be held in two stages, the preliminary competition to be held at each AIR station from August 18 to September 1 and final competition to be held at Delhi and Chennai for Hindustani and Carnatic music respectively. Performing artistes of AIR approved and graded by local audition committee (LAC) and music audition board (MAB) are not eligible for the competition. Winners of the preliminary competition will be recorded for the final competition. Last date for applying to the station directors of nearest AIR stations is June 6, according to a press release.
