Corpn. scheme for property owners

CHENNAI MAY 29. The Chennai Corporation today announced a month long scheme for self-assessment of property tax for new property and for those not yet assessed.

According to a press release here, property owners can submit a self-declaration form or a request in white paper for assessment of property at the Corporation zonal offices as well as offices of the Revenue Officer or the Deputy Commissioner (Revenue and Finance) at Ripon Buildings till June 30.

Those willing to avail themselves of the scheme will have to disclose the registration deed, registered lease deed (if only the superstructure is owned), no objection certificate from executive officer in case the building is situated on temple land and a self declaration form (Form 6) of property tax which can be collected from any of the Corporation office free of cost or downloaded from www.chennaicorporation.

com. The civic agency has guaranteed that all applications would be processed and disposed off within a month.
