Ernakulam Colleges made a clean sweep of the top positions in the B.A. results, bagging nine out of the possible 11 first ranks while Maharaja's and St. Teresa's, both from Ernakulam district, bagged the three first ranks each. The following is the list of first rank holders in the various streams: Faculty of languages: English: Renu V., (marks 668 out of 800), Cochin College, Kochi; Malayalam: Sisha S., (660) St. Xavier's College for Women, Aluva; Hindi: Sruthimol K.S., (662) S.S. College, Kalady; Sanskrit (gen): Prajinipraksh (678) Maharaja's College, Ernakulam. Sanskrit (special): Manju P.M.- (sahitya) Jayalakshmi V (Vedanta); Saritha T.P. (Nyaya) and Sivaja S. Nair (Vyakarana), all from Government Sanskrit College, Thripunithura. Faculty of Social Sciences: History: Divya T. (626), St. Teresa's College for Women, Ernakulam; Economics: Radhika P. Nair, St. Teresa's College for Women, Ernakulam; Politics: Regi Kuriakose (605), St. George College, Aruvithura and Priyesh C.U., (605), Maharaja's College, Ernakulam; Sociology: Panjami Thomas (614), BCM, College for Women, Psychology: Anjali Aravind (711), U.C. College Aluva and Islamic History: Sherin C.A. (518) Maharaja's Ernakulam. According to the Controller of Examinations, N. Ramachandran, applications for revaluation should reach the office before June 22 in the prescribed form accompanied by a fee of Rs. 150 for each answer script. The fee for scrutiny is Rs. 50 per answer paper. The last date for application is June 27. B.Ed Results: The following are the top three rank holders of the B.Ed examinations held during March/April 2003: First Rank: Santiya Mary Thomas 796/1000, Mount Carmel Training College, Kottayam; Second rank: Deepti P.R., (789), SAM Training College, Poothotta; and third rank: Sreeja Sreedhar (778), SAM Training College, Poothotta. Of the 2,724 candidates who appeared for the exam, 2,693 passed, 2,023 of them with first class. The percentage of pass is 98.8. Applications for revaluation should reach the office of the controller of examinations within 21 days from the date of receipt of mark lists in the college. The fee for revaluation is Rs. 150 per answer script. Application for scrutiny should reach the office within 30 days of receipt of mark lists at the respective colleges. The fee is Rs. 50 per answer sheet.
