Consumer index up 6 points

SHIMLA: The consumer price index for industrial workers (base 1982=100) registered an increase of 6 points during April to stand at 493, a Labour Bureau release said here. The rise was attributed to increase in prices of rice, groundnut oil, mustard oil, vanaspati oil, fish, kerosene oil, fruits and vegetables. The point-to-point rate of inflation based on CPI (IW) also increased from 4.06 per cent in March to 5.12 per cent in April. — PTI
