By Our Staff Correspondent
PATNA
May 30.
The former Bihar Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA, Surendra Yadav, suspected of involvement in the kidnap of a businessman was today remanded to 14 days judicial custody after he surrendered before the officiating Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gaya.
The CJM turned down Mr. Yadav's bail petition which he moved upon his surrender after almost seven weeks of the issuance of a non-bailable arrest warrant against him. He had, however, quit as a Minister of State from the Rabri Devi Government soon after the warrant was issued. The RJD MLC, Azad Gandhi, and Pappu Yadav, brother-in-law of Shubash Yadav, MLC, also involved in the case relating to the kidnap of businessman Atul Prakash for allegedly duping them in Gujarat are still at large.
