Medha Patkar begins fast

Nasik May 30. A day after the `warning fast' by the Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) activists here demanding rehabilitation of those affected by the Sardar Sarovar Project (SSP), its leader, Medha Patkar, began a fast in front of the Revenue Commissioner's office today.

The activists staged a dharna in front of the Revenue Commissionerate on Monday. More than 500 persons observed the `warning fast'. — PTI
