Talking to newspersons on board the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee's special Air India flight from Munich to St. Petersburg, he said the Pakistani side had conveyed that it needed 10 days notice to hold ``technical discussions'' to resume the bus service suspended by India after the December 13, 2001, Parliament attack. The contacts relating to the resumption of the bus service have taken place between the External Affairs Ministry and the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi. Mr. Sibal pointed out that India had acted quickly to clear the nomination papers of Pakistan's new High Commissioner to New Delhi, Aziz Ahmed Khan, similar to what had been done by Islamabad in the case of Shiv Shankar Menon, India's new envoy. However, he stated that there had been little progress on the resumption of civil aviation links as had been suggested by the Prime Minister recently. The German leadership has applauded the Prime Minister's initiative and a similar response was likely when he meets the leaders of Russia, France and Britain during his stay in St. Petersburg, he said.
