Girls fare better in KU B.Sc. exams

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM May 31. Girls outshone boys by securing nine out of the eleven first ranks in the B.Sc examinations, the results of which were published by the University of Kerala on Friday.

The pass percentage is 86.06. Of the 6632 candidates who wrote the examination 4315 secured first class, 1147, second class and 480, third class. Last year the pass percentage was 89.20

The names of the first rank holders, their subjects and colleges are:

Mathematics - Deepa Das - S.N. College for Women Kollam; Statistics - Jeena Thankappan - M.S.M. College Kayamkulam; Physics - V. Ratheesh Kumar - DB College Sasthamkotta; Chemistry - Asha Ashokan - S.N. College for Women Kollam.

Polymer Chemistry - J.Chameshwary - F.M.N. College Kollam; Biochemistry - Archana Varma - N.S.S. College, Pandalam; Botany - S. Anisha - F.M.N. College Kollam; Zoology - M. S. Lathika - N.S.S. College, Kottiyam.

Home Science - S.R. Swapnanath - S.N. College for Women, Kollam; Geology - Veena M. Nair -University College, Thiruvananthapuram; Geography - Prasad Rajendran - University College, Thiruvananthapuram.

Applications for revaluation and scrutiny can be submitted till June 30. The dates of the supplementary examination will be notified later. The results are also available on the iniversity Web site `www.keralauniversity.edu'.
