Takes a shikara ride

By Our Special Correspondent

SRINAGAR MAY 31. After two days of brainstorming, the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, and some of her party colleagues took time off for a shikara ride in the famous Dal Lake.

Ms. Gandhi surprised some of her colleagues by enquiring if she could take a ride in the traditional shikara. Once arrangements were made, Manmohan Singh, Natwar Singh, Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Chief Ministers, Digvijay Singh and Ashok Gehlot, and Ambika Soni joined her in the joyride.

Ms. Gandhi and her colleagues had the boat ride for over an hour, which also included a short stop at the Char Chinar for a cup of the traditional Kashmiri tea.
