TDP flays Cong. remarks on Mahanadu

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD May 31. The Congress charge that the recent Mahanadu of the TDP at Tirupati was a forum of `betrayers' came in for strong condemnation from the TDP.

The TDP accused the Congress of making the charge unable to digest the success of the event.

The TDP official spokesman, R. Chandrasekhar Reddy, general secretary, M.A. Shareef, and the Government Whip, E. Dayakar Rao, stated in a press release that the conduct of Mahanadu annually was part of the high traditions of the party. It was an event where TDP activists from all over the State reviewed the party and Government programmes over the past year and decided the targets for the coming year.

The Congress way of finding fault with resolutions adopted at Mahanadu on the success achieved by the State in various sectors was ridiculous. The Congress smacks of internal democracy. The party does not have a tradition of its leaders meeting at a place and discussing public issues. That was why the Congress leaders did not understand the importance of Mahanadu and indulged in needless criticism.

Making light of the democratic process of taking the suggestions from party heavyweights at the Mahanadu and recommending them to the Government exposed the hollowness of Congress, the TDP leaders added.
