Ex-constable held for chain snatching bid

CHENNAI MAY 31. An ex-constable of the CRPF, who made a vain attempt to flee after snatching a gold chain from a woman at Royapuram last night, was arrested by the police after he was caught by the public.

Sakthivel, snatched the 10-sovereign chain from the woman returning to her home at Grace Garden around 9 p.m. He tried to flee on a cycle but fell down. He was caught by passers-by and local residents and handed over to the Royapuram police.
