Aarthie loses

By Our Chess Correspondent

CHENNAI JUNE 1. National women's chess champion Aarthie Ramaswamy missed her chances in playing online games to lose the SARS Free Fifth Saturday Internet Chess Match to Wang Yu of China on Saturday.

After losing with the white pieces in a difficult ending, Aarthie drew the black game by repetition of moves to lose the match by a 0.5-1.5 margin. The best-of-two match was arranged by a New York-based sponsor and the next match in this series will be held in August and November when there are fifth Saturdays in the month.
