Besides Jayasinghe and Darsha, two other Sri Lankan athletes secured first places Rohan Pradeep Kumara Fernando (men's 400 metre) and J.M.S. Jayaweera (men's 3,000 metre). Jayasinghe had been hospitalised on Friday for dehydration after returning from the Indian leg of the series. But the determined 28-year-old sprinter got off to an impressive start and ran the last 50 metres unchallenged, to win her second title in the series. She clocked 11.53 seconds. Uzbekistan's Khubbieva Guzel (11.70) finished second. Asian championship double gold medallist Fernando beat compatriot and former Asian Games gold medallist Sugath Tillakaratne, who took second place. Fernando clocked 46.31 seconds. Fellow teammate Prasanna Amarasekara (46.81) came third in the 400-metre. Sri Lanka also won the first five places in the men's 3,000-metre event.
