Fire in Army depot

By Our Special Correspondent

JAIPUR JUNE 1 . A fire broke out this morning in the ammunition sheds of the Army at Daburwala in Jaisalmer district, 20 km away from the international border with Pakistan. The fire sent missiles flying to the neighbourhood of Sultana village. No casualties were reported.

The blaze caused a minor desert storm in the middle of the Thar, some 75 km from the district headquarter town of Jaisalmer, making fire-fighting operations difficult. Fire fighters brought the inferno under control by 1 p.m. By then two of the sheds were totally burnt.
