Akash test-fired

BALASORE JUNE 2. For the second time in less than a week, India today successfully test-fired the surface-to-air high altitude interception Akash missile from a mobile launcher with defence scientists hinting that the weapon system could be developed into a missile shield system.

The indigenously developed missile with a multi-target engagement capability was fired at around 1.15 p.m.
