Letters to the Editor
Sir, Pakistan can never issue an official directive to close the militant camps as that would amount to admitting the presence of terrorist outfits in its soil. The Pakistani polity is also under the control of obscurantists who have been spitting venom on India for the past four decades. A sudden change in ground realities is impossible. India should not expect Pakistan to stop abetting terrorism all of a sudden as it is not possible even if our neighbour is sincere. What is required now is to cultivate a congenial atmosphere for future parleys. There should be more interaction and a consensus should be reached on a broad-based dialogue on all issues. Both nations should shed their intransigence on Kashmir. The hardliners in the BJP camp have been talking of reclaiming PoK, which is ludicrous.
