New colleges sanctioned by Kerala University

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM June 4. The University of Kerala has decided to issue No Objection Certificate for setting up an engineering college, one medical college, two pharmacy colleges, 25 training colleges and two arts and science colleges under it in the 2003-04 academic year.

A decision to this effect was taken as per the report of the Inspection Commission appointed by the syndicate of the university in this regard.

The Mary Matha Educational Society, Neyyattinkara, is the applicant for the engineering college and the Dr. K.N. Pai Foundation, Thiruvananthapuram, that for the medical college.

The pharmacy colleges are to be set up by the Ezhuthachan National Academy, Kollam, and Dale View, Poovachal.

The Sree Narayana Educational Society and the Viloor Educational Charitable Trust have been given the nod for setting up one arts and science college each.

The university has recommended to the State Government to sanction these institutions.
