TRS relay fast for Singoor waters enters second day

NIZAMABAD JUNE 5. Leaders of various political parties extended their support to the ongoing relay fast by the district unit of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), which entered second day today, demanding 4 tmcft of Singoor waters to meet the drinking water needs of Nizamabad and Bodhan towns.

There was a steady stream of visitors, who called on the fasting leaders and expressed their solidarity. Leaders of other parties who were present at the hunger strike camp were the Nizamabad Mandal Praja Parishad president, Bhoom Reddy (Congress), the CPI(M) town secretary, Ramesh Babu, the Bahujan Samaj Party president, Yadla Ramulu, and the Bharatiya Janata Party vice-president, Sunkara Bhaskar.

Today, the TRS Legal Cell district secretary, N.L. Sastry, the youth wing State secretary, S. Hanamanth Rao, the district BC Cell secretary, Gangula Vinayak, the Rythu Wing State secretary, Mittapalli Bhushan Reddy, and the town secretary, Gopal Srinivas, joined the relay fast.

The TRS leaders, who were present at the hunger strike camp, demanded that the Government release water immediately to mitigate the sufferings of the people of the two towns. The TRS district general secretary, L. Bhupati Reddy, said stir would not end till the Singoor waters were released. The TRS State vice-president, Mukka Devender Gupta, was also present.
