LONDON: David Beckham's mother-in-law has beaten Queen Elizabeth II for the novel honour of Britain's most glamorous grandmother, according to a survey. Twenty-six per cent of 500 respondents named Jackie Adams, mother of Beckham's Spice Girl wife Victoria, as the most attractive and high profile grandma in the land. Her Majesty was the runner-up with 16 per cent, trailed by the likes of James Bond theme-song siren Shirley (Goldfinger) Bassey at 12 per cent and actress Joan (Dynasty) Collins at eight per cent. Adams has two grandchildren through the union of her daughter with the Manchester United star and England captain. The Queen (77) has six by her four children. The survey was sponsored by Cape, an importer of Granny Smith apples from South Africa and New Zealand, which claimed in a press release that "a Granny Smith a day could keep the wrinkles at bay".
